The narrator of this was the author of the book. it is told from second person perspective It is about her struggle of becoming a writer which was very hard for her Her family didnt want her to become a writer they felt it was dangerous it was permanent so if you said something bad then it was there forever if you said something bad about the goverment you could be thrown in jail they grew up in time were that would happen to people the parents wanted her to become a nurse  it is better paying they were dissopointed about her wanteding to write she links braiding hair with writing

What was interesting and what did it make you think about or realize? 250-300 words    so so For the in-class Performances, I played Guy who was already dead but was an angel and he was coming to visit the night women who Nia played because we connected the stories night women and (Blank) because they are extremely similar.  In Night women it is a story of a single mother taking care of her son and in (blank) the father dies and leaves the mother to take care of the son. Ivan and Jacob Both played night women in their performance. Ivan used a lot of hand gestures .  while Jacobs character talked a lot about herself. Cassity got into a argument with David and denny because she is only a night woman so she can pay for her son's education. Lastly Leslie and Jasmine showed the hardship of being a night woman. So so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so KK Blog Post 3 -- Compare Night Women to New York Day Women. What new opportunities do women have in the US vs. Haiti? What experiences are similar in both stories/places? What does this suggest about gender roles? 500 words. They stories of Night women and New York day women have some similarities but at the same time they have many differences as well.  The main similarity is that it is a middle aged women trying to support the family she has left. In Night women she was working for her son while in new york day women it was for the mother.  This also has some differences like what they do for work. In Night Women she has a low paying job and in New York Day Women she has a higher paying job and also has a college degree. KK Blog Post 2 due. Choose one character from the first 4 stories and do a character analysis using Uta Hagen's 9 questions. 500 words The character Guy from the third story.  The story is taking place in the early 1900s in Haiti where he lives.  Most of the scene takes place in their house which is very small because they are very poor.   He is the father of the family with his son Little Guy and wife Lili. He does not really have a job but works when he is asked but he is looking for a job.  His son Little Guy gets one of the lead roles in his play and the mother gets very excited and happy which makes Guy jealous. The theme of escape is present in both nineteen thirty-seven and a wall of fire rising.  In both of these stories escape is one of the main themes.  In the first story it is shown through the mother shown through the mother who is put in jail for having "wings of fire".  These wings of fire are being used to represent when she escaped the river during the massacre she was covered in blood and it makes it look like she has wings of fire which she was believed to have used to escape the massacre.  Then the idea of flying is the mothers escape from her suffering in jail where she was beaten, starved, and tortured. she uses this to show that the only true escape for the mother was death.  Then in the second story, the theme of escape is symbolized by the hot air balloon.  The hot air ballon is Guy's escape from his reality.  it is something that makes him happy.  One day he eventully steals it and...
