The first two stories Of Krik Krak are stories of Told from the perspective of a narrator, the first one gives no names of the narrators but the second is told from the perspective of a character named Josephine.  While the third is told about a family. The first story is about a couple who have to be separated to stay alive and be safe. The male has to leave the island because he is being hunted by the government for his radio channel.  The female character has to leave him because the government will try to find her to use her to get to him. Her father makes her never see him again because he knows that this will happen. Then the second story is told by Josephine and this is about her mother and their past. Her mother and is forced to go to jail for being accused of having wings of fire and killing young children.  She talks a lot about her mother’s past and how she was at massacre river when it was happening but how her mother sacrificed herself and saved her. The madonna is extremely important to her mother because it has been in her family for generations. The last story is about a family. The story starts off with everyone being happy because the son just got a spot in the upcoming play at his school.  Then it goes on to the father talking about how he wants to steal a hot air balloon from where he works. He eventually did and he used it to kill himself by jumping out of it. The saddest part of this story was that his son was reciting his lines over his father's dead body. The main theme of these three stories was suffering. In the first story the theme of suffering is shown by the relationship between the two narrators.  They are forced to leave each other because it is not safe for either of them to be together. The second story shows them theme of suffering mostly through the mother when she is falsely accused of have wings of fire and killing a woman's baby. “Lougawou, witch, criminal! They shouted”. The third and last story shows the theme of suffering with the father. He seems happy to his son because he just got a role in the upcoming school play.  Then in reality she is suffering which is shown by the fact that he wanted to steal a hot air balloon and jump out of it to kill himself. “Within seconds, Guy was hurtling down towards the crowd”. He was so miserable at his job that he killed himself which is how the theme of suffering is shown.
