Explain the choices you made in class for the casting/object selection for Romeo and Juliet. Who did you choose and why? Who did you leave out and why? What objects did you choose and why? How will your character use this object in the play? What effect will this have on your production overall? Also, if you were ti use your classmates, explain who you would cast in these roles and why. My group chose the characters Romeo, Juliet, Nurse, Friar Lawrence, Tybalt, Mercutio, Lord and lady Capulet, Paris, and the Apothecary.  We chose Romeo because he is one of the main characters in the story.  Romeo's object that we gave him was a red heart.  This is because he fell in love with juliet but then the red symbolizes something bad is going to happen.  He wouldn't really use this object other than to show his love to Juliet, I feel that this would make the production because it would give a good understanding of his feelings.   Juliet was chos...

who was most at fault

I feel that Tybalt is at fault for most of the down fall of Romeo and Juliet lives.  He is at fault for a couple of reasons.  This is because he killed Mercutio and wanted to kill Romeo.  The story says "Tybalt under Romeo's arm stabs Mercutio".  This is saying that Tybalt killed Mercutio while Mercutio was under Romeos arm.  This makes Tybalt at fault because it drove Romeo to go insane and kill Tybalt which ended up being where the downfall of the relationship comes to full effect.  Romeo then goes on to say "Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him." to Tyablt before he killed him.  This shows that when Tybalt killed Mercutio it drove Romeo crazy with rage and revenge and made him kill Tybalt.  This is then were the real downfall of the story starts because Romeo was banished which made Juliet crazy.  In the end these Tybalt is the main reason for the downfall of Romeo and Juliet's relationship.

Les Miserables Review

Jack Purdy Les Miserables Review The name of this story Is Les Miserables.  The story was written by Victor Hugo but the movie was directed by Tom Hooper.  I saw the movie version of this story, which was made in 2012.  The main characters included Anne Hathaway who played Fantine, Hugh Jackman who plays Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe who was the inspector after Jean Valjean, Eddie Redmayne who was Marius, and Amanda Seyfried who played Cosette who was the girl Jean Valjean was taking care of.  This story was about the life of Jean Valjean and the girl he adopts named Cosette.  This story started out with when Jean Valjean finally becomes free from being a slave and runs away from his parole.  Then it moves on to him becoming the leader of a town and he ends up adopting a woman's daughter.  It goes on to show how his parole officer finally finds him and how Jean has to go back to hiding.  It then skips about eight or nine years into the future...
Part one --   In Act 3 Scene 1 who is really responsible for Mercutio’s death: Mercutio, who provoked the fight, Tybalt who stabbed him, or Romeo who got between them? Use specific evidence (direct quotes) from the play to back this up.  In act 3 scene 1 I feel that it is all three of their faults for Mercutio's death.  I feel that it is partly Mercutio's fault because he is the one who started the fight.  He says this to Tybalt " Tybalt, you rat-catcher, will you walk?".  When Mercutio calls Tybalt a rat-catcher it means that he is making fun of him and provoking him to fight.  Then when he asks will you walk he is asking Tybalt to fight.  This is why I feel that it is part Mercutios fault because he wouldn't have died if he didn't start the fight.  Then I think that it is partly Tybalts fault because, well he is the one who stabbed him.  If Tybalt didn't stab him then he wouldn't have died.  Obviously he wouldn't have died if Tybal...

character chart Gregory- montague slave sampson- montague slave abraham- benvolio- romeos cousin tybalt- capulet member lady capulet- capulet leader wife nurse Juliet mercutio  pais friar Lawrence peter summary scene 3 Romeo goes and asked friar Lawrence to marry him and Juliet.   friar Lawrence marries them hoping that it would solve the conflict between the two families scene 4 mercutio and benvolio are looking for Romeo Romeo shows up and they start talking about where he was nurse comes talks to Romeo about when he will be marrying Juliet scene 5 the nurse get back and Juliet is asking her what Romeo said the nurse makes Juliet wait before she tells her the nurse finally tells Juliet that Romeo wants to marry her Juliet becomes extremely happy scene 6 this is when Romeo and Juliet get married
Agree with the following statement and use specific details and quotes from the text to support your argument: Friar Lawrence is a peacemaker. Disagree with the following statement and use specific details and quotes from the text to support your argument: Friar Lawrence is a peacemaker. Friar Lawrence was the local priest in verona and he would conduct all the marriages, church ceremonies, and other activities that have to do with the church.  He was also who Juliet went to to get the sleeping potion.  He knew how to make medicine and I assume that he made the medicine for the people of Verona but that is something I am unsure of.  I feel that Friar Lawrence is a peacemaker for in one main way decide the fact that he is a priest.  This is that the main reason he agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet was to solve the conflict between the two families.  This example shows how he is a peacemaker because he wanted to make the streets safer by ending the confli...
Discuss the first time Shakespeare introduces Romeo -- What is he doing? What is he saying? What do we learn about his character and personality? What is your first impression of him as a person? Do you like him, respect him, admire him, etc.? Do the same for Juliet. Compare them. Which do you like better? The first time Shakespeare introduces Romeo, Romeo is talking to Benvolio.  They were talking about how Romeo was sad.  Then they go on to talk about why Romeo is sad.  Which was because Romeo was in love with a women.  He was sad because she will not love anyone.  They said that she is "chaste.  This conversation shows that Romeo's character falls in love fairly easily.  He fell in love so easily, it was because she was as they say "fair"  which means beautiful.  It shows that he has a loving and caring personality.  This also shows that he was easily persuaded and that he was emotional.  My first impression of Romeo was tha...
If you were to stage the play, how might you depict the Montagues and Capulets to show that they are of similar class status and wealth but also make them recognizably different from each other and show the audience that they are enemies? You can talk about placement on the stage, costuming, props, body language, style of speaking or any other dramatic elements.   If I personally was directing a play I would depict the Montagues and the Capulets in very different ways to show that they are the same social and wealth statuses.  First off it would depend on if this was taking place in today's society or in the time that the play was written.  If it took place in today's society then I would depict them as extremely wealthy rival Gangs.  Similar to the rivalry between the gangs the Crips and the Bloods they would have their own colors that gang members would wear.  Like the Montagues would wear red and the Capulets would wear blue.  To show they were enemies...

In the play (text), do you think Romeo and Juliet really fall in love at first sight? Explain your answer and use evidence from the text to back it up. yes I think they do.  I think this because the way Romeo talked to her you could tell that he was in love.  " If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready standTo smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." This is Romeo asking if he can kiss her.  In the film version of  Romeo and Juliet  we saw in class, what strategies does the director use to make the “love at first sight” plot believable? Was it successful? Explain your answer. He made the Love at first sight believable because of the way he had the two actors look at each  other.  the way they looked at each other made it seem as though they were in love.  they were both looking at each other blushing and smiling. If you were acting the role of...
