this is just to say

KK Blog Post 2 due. Choose one character from the first 4 stories and do a character analysis using Uta Hagen's 9 questions. 500 words

The character Guy from the third story.  The story is taking place in the early 1900s in Haiti where he lives.  Most of the scene takes place in their house which is very small because they are very poor.   He is the father of the family with his son Little Guy and wife Lili. He does not really have a job but works when he is asked but he is looking for a job.  His son Little Guy gets one of the lead roles in his play and the mother gets very excited and happy which makes Guy jealous. She starts to give him all the attention because of the play.  This is why Guy doesn't like when Little Guy recites his lines in front of him and he makes him stop. Then he goes on to talk about the hot air balloon from where he works. He talks a lot about the hot air balloon he goes on and talks about how he wants to steal the hot air balloon and fly it but he never says anything about wanting to jump out of it.  Then one day he finally does steal the hot air balloon and he is able to fly it all by himself which had surprised many people because it normally takes an entire crew to fly. This shows that he was determined because he was able to do it by himself. Then he had to make a choice to either land it and get arrested, them shoot it down and he dies or he jumps out and dies.  He chose to jump. This shows how miserable he was in life because he wanted to die which is why he jumped. Then when he is lying dead on the ground the Boss doesn't care and goes to find the balloon. This also shows why he may have jumped because he felt like his life was pointless and no one cared about him, but this is not true because his family cared a lot about him.  Overall I think that he is a coward. I feel this way for a couple of reasons, but the main reason is that he chose death over trying to fix his problems. He decided to just give up on everything like his family, his life, and finding a job. Then at the same time, I see where he is coming from because he has been looking for a job for years and only works when he is needed so he eventually got to the point where he just gave up.  He also didn't really have a choice because he could either die or his life would just be worse and either way, he wasn't gonna be able to support Lili and Little Guy because he was either gonna die or go to jail. He chose to die instead of the possibility of getting out of jail and seeing his family again.
