Post some reading notes on your blog, specifically 1) identifying characters, 2) summarizing the plot, and 3) offering some personal repsonse/ideas about the story characters  two with no names and were the narrators Summary It was about two charaters letters to each other.  One character had feld hati.  then he meets a female when he was leaving and he baby dies so she throws it over board and goes over too.  the other character is anry because her father dosnt approve of who she is in love with.  Then it goes on to her learning the her father gave up everything to protect her from a gang.
Do some research about the history of Haiti, specifically looking at the concepts and people posted on the class blog. Post this info on your blog. It is an Island in the Caribbean it began in December of 1492.  It was used for slaves to farm for sugar.  Until the slave revolt.  This was from 1791 to 1804.  This was when the Haitian slaves started t revolt and fight back against their French oppressors.  They eventually won.  This was the first revolution that was actually successful.

What I did well and what I need work with

I feel like I had a good understanding of most everything that the quiz was on. There are some portions that I feel I had a better understanding of though.  I feel like I had a really good understanding of the stage directions because of the activities we did.  I feel like I had a good understanding of like the different types of theater. the different types of stages and most of the characteristics of a play.  Lastly, I feel like I had a good understanding of Stanislavski and his method because last year I did a presentation on him.  There was some stuff that I didn't have the best understanding o but I still knew somewhat about them.  Some of the stuff that I need to work on vocab of the play.  By this, I mean like  Plot,  Articulation,  Enunciation,   Dramatic Pauses  Suspense and,  Stage Whisper.  I still had a good understanding of these but I could work on them more so I know them better.
Each of the mini performances that we did today in class all had there own unique touch to them.  In David, denny, and stella they made there own way of performing thier lines.  They decided to have three chairs lined up next to each other.  The two outer chairs had wheeles on the bottom so they could move.  They used this to alternate between every line.  Then Denny talked at the end in his center chair.  There theme was relgion I belive.  I feel this way because they talked alot about the jewish rabi.  The next group was Ivan, Cassidy, and leslie.  They did theres a little different.  They had Leslie and cassidy saying the lines for their story and then Ivan would teel the date which that event happened and talk a little about it.  There theme was police because all they talked about was how the police were racist and that the black and jewish community were being discriminated by them and everyone else.  Lastly my own group ...
Reflect on your experience last week exploring Verbatim Theater. Why do you think people do it? What does it accomplish? What was your experience like (and your group's experience)? Was the process difficult? And if so, how so? Were any aspects easier than others? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? What did you learn? people perform verbatim theater because they are trying to describe an actual story that was told by someone or describing a character.  I feel like with mine we accomplished showing how Ivan felt about moving from vdp to markin and which he liked more very well.  So I feel like it is good at telling stories.  My group has had no experience with this type of theater that I know of no one said anything about having ever done this before.  I found the prosses of figuring out ivans character somewhat difficult to write but It personally for me was very easy for me to portray Ivan because I am very good friends with him and know him very well. ...
Consider the following questions as you write your post: What is theater, in your opinion? What makes it good to participate in, to perform, or to watch? Why do people do theater or watch it or like it? Why do YOU? What aspects of theater are most important for performers to learn and think about? In your experience, what is easy and fun about theater and what is challenging? Theater, in my opinion, is a way of telling a story of describing a character's life with words and actions.  Theater is a way to get a message or idea across to an audience. Last theater is a form of entertainment that has been in use for centuries.  The first reason that theater is something that is good to participate in is it helps with public speaking. The second reason it is good is that it teaches stories.  Lastly, the final reason is that it a great way to get your own message to an audience. Theater is good to perform because it allows the director to tell a story but at the same time w...
