review of chalk circle

The play started off with them arguing about who should have control over the land.  Then they move into the story starting which I found this part to be a little weird because there was really no point to the first scene.  Then the story started with the Governor and his family this was because this family played a important role in the play.  Almost the entire play was based about their child.  Then the other idea I didn't understand was the name of the play because the idea of a chalk circle doesn't appear until the very last scene it isn't even mentioned at all early in the play.  Overall the story was about a woman who finds the royal baby during an attack and adopts the baby.  Then the mother of the baby finds out that she has it and they go to court which is were the chalk circle comes because they use it to see who can pull the baby out of it.  I thought the story was a little odd because of the way it started but then as it started to go I fou...

romeo and juliet adaptation

For my Romeo and Juliet adaptation the scene I would use was the final scene when Romeo and Juliet die.  I would have the scene start in a church with Romeo walking down the aisle toward Juliet.  I would have the lights start off dark and get brighter as he gets closer to her and sad music playing in the background.  Then when he gets to her the music turns off and the lights get dim.  He starts whispering into her ear that he loves her.  Then he would shoot himself in the head.  Right after he killed himself Juliet would wake up and see him.  She would start crying and saying "why Romeo" and the she loves him.  Then she takes his gun checks to see if there are any bullets left and she shoots herself.  In this scene I would modernize it in a couple of ways.  The first way is to make the language modern.  Then I would change the clothes to stuff people would wear today, like Romeo would have sweatpants and a sweatshirt on these ...

Romeo and juliet review

The film version of Romeo and Juliet  was directed by Baz Lurhmann.  In his film he made some different choices in how he viewed the story should be portrayed.  I thought that his idea to keep the script the same as the original and not modernize it was a little different.  I feel that it was a good choice because it joined the old version and the new version of the story into one.  Then another choice that I felt was a little different was how portrayed Juliet at the party.  I liked how he made her wear an angel costume and have her seem bright and innocent.  Then next choice I fell that was different was how he viewed the two families.  The Capulets seemed like they were of Spanish heritage while the Montague's seemed like Italians.   The last choice that I felt was different was the death scene at the end.  I thought that it was smart of him to have Juliet wear her wedding dress to show she was pure, innocent, and that she loved Romeo...
