Explain the choices you made in class for the casting/object selection for Romeo and Juliet. Who did you choose and why? Who did you leave out and why? What objects did you choose and why? How will your character use this object in the play? What effect will this have on your production overall? Also, if you were ti use your classmates, explain who you would cast in these roles and why.

My group chose the characters Romeo, Juliet, Nurse, Friar Lawrence, Tybalt, Mercutio, Lord and lady Capulet, Paris, and the Apothecary.  We chose Romeo because he is one of the main characters in the story.  Romeo's object that we gave him was a red heart.  This is because he fell in love with juliet but then the red symbolizes something bad is going to happen.  He wouldn't really use this object other than to show his love to Juliet, I feel that this would make the production because it would give a good understanding of his feelings.  Juliet was chosen because she also is one of the main characters.  Her object was a white heart to symbolize that she fell in love with Romeo and that she was pure and innocent.  I feel that this wouldn't have any use other than to show that she loves Romeo and that she is pure.  The nurse was important because she mentored Juliet.  Her object was a lamp because she guided juliet all through her life.  She will use her object whenever she is looking for juliet.  Friar Lawrence was significant because he was the one who married Romeo and Juliet.  His object was a cross to show that he is a priest.  He would use this while conducting mass.  Tybalt was important because started the conflict that created the downfall of the story.  His object is a knife he would use this when he was fighting Mercutio and Romeo.  Mercutio was significant because he was Romeos best friend and played an important role in the story.  His object would be and alcohol bottle, because it shows that he is crazy.  He would use this when he is trying to get Romeo to come to a party.  Lord Capulet was important because he is Juliet's father.  His object was a stack of money, because he was rich.  He could use this to buy anything during the story.  Then Lady Capulet was important because she was Juliet's mom.  Her object was Jewelry because she was rich and dressed elegant.  She could use this by wearing it.  Paris was very important because he was supposed to marry Juliet.  His object was a brick of gold because he was very rich and successful.  He could use this to buy anything he would want.  The Apothecary was important because he sold Romeo the poison he used to kill himself.  His object was drugs because he could sell them to Romeo and other characters.
