Romeo and juliet review
The film version of Romeo and Juliet was directed by Baz Lurhmann. In his film he made some different choices in how he viewed the story should be portrayed. I thought that his idea to keep the script the same as the original and not modernize it was a little different. I feel that it was a good choice because it joined the old version and the new version of the story into one. Then another choice that I felt was a little different was how portrayed Juliet at the party. I liked how he made her wear an angel costume and have her seem bright and innocent. Then next choice I fell that was different was how he viewed the two families. The Capulets seemed like they were of Spanish heritage while the Montague's seemed like Italians. The last choice that I felt was different was the death scene at the end. I thought that it was smart of him to have Juliet wear her wedding dress to show she was pure, innocent, and that she loved Romeo. The part that I didn't like was how he made juliet waking up as Romeo drinks the poison. I felt that this part was cheesy and that it kinda makes it more dramatic than it needs to be. Overall he made some choices that were different but they made the movie better.
