gods
Blog post. 500 words. Find passages from the text that refer to the 4 gods. Describe their characters and characteristics. What do they look like, act like, sound like, etc.? Also describe how you would represent them on stage. Use direct quotes for each.
I would represent agwe by having him shaped like a person out of the water. He would be extremely tall and the water that he was made up of was the cleanest, purest and most clear water there is. Then when he was talking with villagers he would have a human form. he would be dressed in aqua blue robes and he would have long hair that was always wet. Agwe seems like he is mad at humanity because of what they are doing to the earth so he likes to punish them. "agwe, god of the sea, of our many waters-- how gentle he was then. how tenderly he treated the voluptuous asaka. He adored her. agwe caresses nourished the fruits of her work and rained gently down on us, his benedictions, the benedictions of the gods.
If I was representing papa ge the I would give him a midnight black robe with a hood that was big and came over his head. His eyes would be blood red he would have blood dripping from his mouth and his teeth stained with it. He would have a sythe cause that just like a death sort of thing. He seems like he loves killing people considering it is what he does as a god. He just seems like the most scary god out of all of them. "his clothes as dark as the night behind him, his top hat outlined against the gray, stromy sky. Not a man a demon. His mouth gleamed red, blood red. he grinned around a cigar clenched between brown teeth that were dripping with blood.
"Asaka, goddess of earth, of plants, of all things growing, how generous was her bounty then. She pushed a wilderness of herbs, of bush to thicken the underbush, keeping the trees forever green forever productive. we peasants worshipped her." She seems like she is by far the nicest of all the gods as she tried to provide for the peasants with plants. If I was staging her I would give her a crown made out of some sticks with leaves and beautiful flowers on it. Then I would give her a light pink sundress.
