There are a couple of things that make the performance of a poem good.  The first one is a costume, a costume can help a lot.  This will help to make the character of the poem come alive and give a visual representation of them.  The next way is with props.  Props will help because they also give a visual representation and they also help to engage the audience in the performance.  Another way to bring a poem to life in a performance is to act out some of the ideas in the poem because it will help to show the meaning of the poem as well.  The last thing that helps is good background music or noises.  These will help to show the emotion in the poem and also show the audience the rhythm of the poem.
