scene performance
Blog post due by midnight -- 300 words. Based on the feedback you received on your first draft, what things are you working on and what rehearsal techniques have you tried in order to improve your performance?
Based off of all of the feedback I have received I feel like I have a couple of things that I need to improve on. Then there is some stuff that we all need to work on. The first thing that I need to improve on is the speed that I am talking at. To me I feel like I'm talking at a normal speed but in reality I'm talking faster than usual. The way that I am going to work on talking slower is by practicing my lines really slowly almost to the point where it doesn't even sound good. I am going to do this so that I slow myself down when I am talking about how important my glass is at the beginning. The next thing I need to work on is showing better emotion during the fight. In the actual scene I will be able to show better emotion because I don't need to look at the lines, but during this first draft I had to keep looking at the lines so that I made sure that I didn't miss my line in the middle of the scene. I will make it seem like I am more sad while Tom and Amanda are fighting. During my first part I will show more emotion by seeming happy and excited about my glass. To do this I will try to use stanislavski's method to show more emotion. In this scene Laura doesnt really move around at all she pretty much just sits on the bed and watches Tom and Amanda fight, so I won't really be able to move much, but I could change it a little so that I stay looking at the glass a little longer and then I move to the bed. The biggest thing that I feel I need to work on is the speed I say my lines because sometimes I get nervous and that is why I talk faster but to work on this I will just say to myself who cares what everyone else thinks just go for it. This will help me to become more comfortable.
