Discuss the scene, why it interests you, what character you'll play & why (& how it will challenge you as an actor), the importance of this scene in play & what literary analysis you hope to explore 300-500 words

The Glass Menagerie was written by Tennessee William and is a play about a single mother named Amanda living with her daughter Laura who has a crippled leg which has caused her to become very socially awkward and her son Tom both Tom and Laura are in their twenties.  It takes place during the Great Depression which cause Tom and Amanda to have a very bad relationship in which they fight a lot.  One scene where this is clearly shown is the fight between Tom and Amanda about breaking Laura's glass in front of laura.  This scene is interesting because it really shows how much Tom and Amanda fight but it also shows how shy and awkward Laura is.  In this I will be playing laura because in class I dont really talk much and I’m pretty quiet which is similar to laura because she is very quiet.  This will challenge me because I’m a guy and Laura is a girl, so I will need to act like a girl for it and she is very awkward and she seems depressed.  This scene is very important to the play because it shows both the relationship Tom has with Laura which is kind and they don't fight and his with Amanda which they fight all the time about everything which eventually leads to tom leaving them.  This scene is also very important to the play because it shows how Laura changes in the end.  This is shown because when Tom broke the glass she was very sad and got angry at him but when Jim breaks it she doesn't get that sad and she actually gives him a piece of the glass.  In this scene I would like to work on the relationship between Tom and Amanda because they fight so much about anything.
