this is just to say

My name is Jack Purdy.  I normally just go by Purdy.  I'm from southington, CT which is about 15 min away from Ca.  I have a beach house in Rhode Island.  I play to sports Football and Lacrosse.   My main sport is Lacrosse and the only reason I play football is for the lifting and conditioning to get ready for lacrosse season.  In football I normally play Wide Receiver, cornerback, and safety,  but sometimes I played linebacker tight end.  In lacrosse i play Midfielder.  This means that i play both offense and defense, but at the beginning of last season I played Defensive middie for the first couple of games then I started to play more offense until I just started playing both equally.

One interesting thing about myself is that I like to surf.  Although I have only been surfing for 2 years I can do some tricks.  My favorite is a frontside turn.  I normally surf in Rhode Island at my beach house.  The surfboard that I use is call Disco and is made by Sharpeye Surfboards.  My board is 5 feet 11 inches tall.  

Another  interesting fact about myself is that I also like to skimboard.  I also normally do this at my beach house in Rhode Island too.  This is different from surfing in that you start off on the beach and ride a board out to a wave that crashes close to shore.  There's all kinds of tricks you can do after you reach the wave.  I personally like to wrap the wave and ride it back to shore, but I also like to do different kinds of flips off of a wave.

One more interesting thing about myself is that I'm moving to South Carolina.  We have already bought the house there it is in the town of Charleston.  I'm not moving there until my younger siblings graduate.  This won't be happen for a couple of years because they are only freshmen.

There are a couple of reasons that had an influence on my decision to take this class.  The first one was that I hate writing a lot of papers and that the other IB english class we had to write a lot of papers.   The second reason that I chose this class is because I had heard that the teacher was super nice.  The third reason is that I felt that this class was a better fit than any of the other english classes available.  These are the three reasons for which I decided to take this class for.  There is one main thing that I hope to get out of this class.  This is to become more comfortable speaking in front of a group of people.
